Overview


Elaine Reardon is a Director at Resolution Economics LLC, an economics and statistics consulting firm with offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and New York. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and has a broad range of research experience in survey research methodology, labor economics, and applied microeconomics. Prior to joining Resolution Economics, she was an economist for ten years at the RAND Corporation, a non-profit, non-partisan think tank in Santa Monica, California. Before that, she was an economist at the Milken Institute, another non-profit, non-partisan think tank in Santa Monica, California.

Dr. Reardon analyzes complex data for the purpose of assisting counsel in evaluating class certification and merits issues in employment matters. She has analyzed claims alleging age, race, and gender discrimination in hiring, termination, and pay equity. She also has considerable experience in wage and hour consulting and litigation, utilizing various data sources such as surveys, observation studies, and administrative data to assess class certification issues regarding uncompensated time, missed meals, and exempt/non-exempt status. She has significant experience in designing, implementing and analyzing scientific surveys, including drawing statistical samples and making inferences from the results. In connection with her litigation work, Dr. Reardon has served in an expert capacity a number of times.

Dr. Reardon’s research on racial wage inequality was published in The Journal of Human Resources. Her work has also been published by RAND, the Employee Relations Law Journal, and Health Care Financing Review. She has presented her research at the Eastern and Western Economic Association meetings and in front of various policy audiences. She has taught business economics at Loyola Marymount Business School and statistics and econometrics in the undergraduate economics department at UCLA.
