Catalina Miranda

Catalina Miranda, is a Director based in Resolution Economics’ Toronto office. Ms. Miranda specializes in financial analysis, business valuation and Canadian capital markets regulation. Her experience includes preparing and reviewing valuation reports and fairness opinions, developing financial models, quantifying value and damages, and providing litigation support services.

Ms. Miranda brings more than 17 years of experience across retail and distribution, life sciences, real estate and REITs, mining, forestry, cannabis and crypto assets. She has assessed M&A transactions, IPO filings, valuations and fairness opinions and has reviewed financial disclosures and IFRS compliance for public issuers. She also has experience managing regulatory investigations and reviewing practices at credit rating agencies and Canadian exchanges.

Before joining Resolution Economics, Ms. Miranda held senior roles at the CBV Institute, including Vice President, Regulatory & Standards. In that role, she led professional standard-setting initiatives, member guidance, practice inspections and disciplinary matters. She also led the adoption of International Valuation Standards in Canada and created and led a Business Valuation AI & Tech Working Group. Before joining the CBV Institute in 2018, Ms. Miranda spent nearly eight years with the Ontario Securities Commission. She began her career at Ernst & Young, working in audit and later in Valuation and Business Modeling.
