Tim Zimmerman is a Partner based in Resolution Economics’ Toronto, Canada office. He specializes in loss quantification, business valuation and forensic accounting and is the Canadian practice leader at ResEcon.
His practice focuses on commercial disputes, insurance claims and construction and expropriation disputes. Tim has been qualified as an expert in loss quantification, business valuation and forensic accounting by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) and has provided expert testimony on numerous occasions. The breadth of his services ranges from business interruption claims, expropriation claims, breach of contract and shareholder disputes, construction disputes, environmental contamination claims, forensic investigations, intellectual property damages, and private company business valuations. He graduated from the University of Guelph and obtained his Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designations. Tim spent 15 years at international accounting firms prior to joining ResEcon. Tim is active as a lecturer, seminar leader and has written numerous articles in his field including authoring chapters for the CBV program of studies litigation course. Tim has experience valuing businesses and quantifying commercial claims globally. Tim was the 2018 recipient of the Top CBV Under 40 Award from the Chartered Business Valuators Institute.
