Background

Brendan Cape is a Director based in Resolution Economics’ Toronto office. A Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, Mr. Cape specializes in forensic accounting, loss quantification, and business valuation services for a broad range of clients, including matters involving civil litigation, matrimonial disputes, insurance claims, corporate planning, and expropriations. He is the leader of Resolution Economics Canada’s matrimonial disputes practice and has provided expert witness testimony in both commercial and matrimonial disputes. Mr. Cape has been qualified as an expert in forensic accounting and business valuations by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Mr. Cape brings more than twenty years of industry experience, working across professional services, communications, real estate, financial services, manufacturing, distribution, retail operations, franchising, energy, tourism, and the non-profit sector. Brendan is responsible for preparing business valuation reports, expert reports and limited critique reports in accordance with the CBV Institute’s Practice Standards. He has completed the International Valuation Standards Online Course from the CBV Institute and is a member of the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario.

Prior to joining Resolution Economics, Mr. Cape was a Director in the Toronto Valuation and Litigation Advisory Services practice at RSM Canada. Prior to joining RSM Canada, he was a Senior Manager in the Litigation Support practice of Williams Meaden & Moore.
