Background

Dan (dk) Kuang is a Director at Resolution Economics, LLC, an economics, statistics, forensic accounting, and economic damages consulting firm.  He has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Portland State University, a M.A. from CUNY, Baruch College, and dual B.S. from U.C. Berkeley. 

Dr. Kuang has over 25 years of experience analyzing and investigating workplace discrimination (e.g., hiring/selection, compensation, promotion, termination) in both litigation and proactive prevention situations.  Dr. Kuang is an expert in applied statistics, quantitative methods, and I/O psychology in the personnel, EEO diversity, and equity context.  This blend of expertise makes Dr. Kuang uniquely qualified to investigate and evaluate complex workplace matters, such as algorithm bias, artificial intelligence, FLSA classification, pay equity, and workforce diversity.

Dr. Kuang’s experience in litigation support ranges from single plaintiff arbitration to complex federal class action matters.  He has served as a defense consultant and expert against federal and state enforcement agencies (e.g., EEOC, OFCCP, CRD) and private plaintiffs.  Importantly, Dr. Kuang is widely recognized for his fair and balanced approach to workplace discrimination matters as he has experience as both plaintiff and defense expert in addition to serving as a member of the California Equal Pay Taskforce.  

As an expert I/O Psychologist, Dr. Kuang has successfully helped employers drive workforce practice and procedures to obtain strategic business outcomes through thoughtful application of I/O methods (e.g., job analysis, assessment, performance management, workforce planning, people analytics).  

Prior to joining Resolution Economics, Dr. Kuang was the Director of People Analytics at Salesforce where he specialized in high stakes equality-related analytics.  Before Salesforce, Dr. Kuang was a principal consultant at Biddle Consulting Group, where he specialized in Title VII -related analytics, compliance, and litigation support.
