Joe Sremack

Joe Sremack is a Partner based in Resolution Economics’ Los Angeles office. He specializes in data analytics, AI and systems examination, and source code analysis for complex litigation, regulatory enforcement, and internal investigations. With over two decades of experience spanning dozens of countries, he has served as a consulting and testifying expert in hundreds of engagements across state and federal courts, international courts, and proceedings before financial and trade regulatory bodies.

Mr. Sremack ‘s practice combines deep software examination with large-scale data analytics to provide objective, forensic analysis of complex technology. He applies data science tools and techniques to extract and analyze data from virtually all major enterprise systems — including ERPs, cloud-based platforms, and proprietary databases — and routinely supports class action and commercial litigation requiring the collection and analysis of tens of billions of records. He also develops custom software and analytical solutions, assesses source code across numerous programming languages, and leads forensic examinations of artificial intelligence systems in both litigation and investigative settings.  

Mr. Sremack advises on data privacy disputes and regulatory actions involving data transfers and tracking technology; patent and trade secret litigation involving proprietary information, including source code and customer data; geospatial, mobile, and social media data analysis for complex disputes; CFIUS examinations of software technology; and system configuration and controls assessments in securities and consumer litigation.

Over the course of his career, he has built and led forensic data analytics and technology practices at several of the nation’s leading risk advisory and professional services firms, consistently establishing new capabilities in forensic analysis, source code analysis, AI examinations, and large-scale data investigations.

He is the author of AI Forensics: Investigation and Analysis of Artificial Intelligence Systems (Chapman & Hall, 2026) and Big Data Forensics (Packt Publishing, 2015), and he is recognized by Who’s Who Legal as one of the top data and technology experts globally. Mr. Sremack  holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Philosophy from the College of Wooster.
